How can being small be classed as a disability?
Everything she's got works doesn't it? |

You mean to say every cash machine has to be 3 foot off the ground or any one with dwarfism
is discriminated against I have never seen such a load of rubbish in my life I think as a society we appear to be going collectively insane ![]() |

I should have sued the police!
A couple of years ago I went, by appointment, to give evidence as they didn't want to be seen at mine. The doors were locked so I had to use the wall mounted phone. The instructions were above the phone and I couldn't read them without standing on a wall that was only two bricks high. No exaggeration, I was stood there for twenty minutes, as nobody could find details of an appointment. Lost track of how many times he said "hang on a second" which was another five minutes every time. In the meantime I stepped back and fell two fekking feet and grazed my shins. Finally someone came down, who had in fact been to my place, despite the arrangements. Going in I slashed my thumb on the door latch that was like a flipping scalpel, and then had to wait while he went off for a "Band-Aid". Have to wonder how well they perform in an emergency! Glad he was only a young bobby, and that there weren't two of them there, as I used the n..... in the woodpile expression..... ![]() |

She's the height of an average 5 year old. Her partner is of normal height. I'm sure he's a nice enough chap but there's something creepy about it.

It is ridiculous, how many people in our society are three feet tall!
It is hardly discrimination. I think our compensation culture is destroying us, I really do Just encourages lies and greed, and all for the benefit of the legal profession. We are a sad society now ![]() |

She didnt look like she made too much effort to reach the card reader imo.
If she was retrieving her purse I bet she'd have managed |

So you wouldn't mind being 3 foot tall?
What a silly comment from Mr Eboue. I wouldn't want to bow legged, cross eyed or bald either, but just because a condition is undesirable it doesn't make it a disability. |
|
By:
Does this mean that every cash machine in the country has got to be adjusted on the off chance that someone small might want to use them?
What about cars where their feet won't reach the pedals and motor bikes where their feet won't reach the floor? Then there are theatres and public performances to consider where short people can't see over the person in front of them. Where will it all end? |

It is unfortunate, for the sake of the forum members, that having a large knob sticking out of your head is not yet classified as a disability, because it would be compo all around imo.
ffs the girl has dwarfism which is a recognised condition which does not have much going for it unless you wait for the fecking panto season so leave the poor girl alone. It must be very humiliating for her, although I am sure amusing for some of those fellow knobheads behind in the queue, watching on. |

The law says businesses should make reasonable adjustments and it seems perfectly reasonable to me that the terminals could be portable rather than fixed.
|
|
By:
The point she made is that it's not just people of her height affected, it's people in wheelchairs etc,
and I'd guess people with disabilities are more likely to be a post office users than average, I think hving the the things on a secure cable so they could be moved forward a bit is quite reasonable. Are a lot of pensions etc now payed on card .. in post offices? |

How the fcuk do blind people get around this, I suppose they have to rely on others, rather than sue the 'rse off everyone for not providing brail pads. She has a "Normal" sized other half, so why can't that lazy fcuker take care of her needs, as do carers or disabled people. She is not disabled, she has a fully functioning body. this whole thing is just a lawyers benefit merry-go-round.

Has anybody here ever "reached" the top shelf in a supermarket for someone (always a woman) who is not disabled but simply cannot reach that high. should all supermarkets be reconfigured?. No just ask a member of staff, it's not that facking hard, is it. Or is she dumb as well as being a stupidly arrogant **** who wants compo and/or her 15 minutes of fame.

Bit bizarre that the Post Office allowed her recreate the 'incident' in the clip on BBC. Well and truly bent over.

14 Dec 14 16:25 Has anybody here ever "reached" the top shelf in a supermarket for someone (always a woman) who is not disabled but simply cannot reach that high. Mrs CMAT is a fraction under 5 feet tall, she often asks for help when she can't raach it in supermarkets. Perhaps she should get a claim in for some 'compo'. |

This anti discrimination law nonsense costs firms a fortune.
Go to factories, offices and buildings anywhere in the country, and their are examples of fittings and expensive alterations to buildings to cater for disabled people, that have never or will ever be used. |

there are examples.
