I liked the totp clip where, when the camera zoomed back in on him,he wasn't 'quite ready' to continue, and the fact hat the audience didnt quite know hat to make of the duo.

Went to see him and Wild Willy Barrett a couple of months ago.

A good night out. Before, during the break and after the shows they're both in the bar, having a beer and a chat with the punters. Barrett is a very good musician as it goes.

I'd love to see him live, Roger.

Tony Broke, I was trying to find the clip of where he fell off whatever he was standing on on one rendition of Really Free.
It may have been at the end of that TOTP broadcast but they didn't show it.
I can remember watching it at the time it happened and I couldn't stop laughing!

TT - I swear that's on youtube somewhere as a mate of mine told me to watch it about 6 months ago (I'd never even heard of the geezer before) - it was worth a watch but it wasn't exactly hilarious.

Persevere squire because it's there (or it WAS) - if I find it I'll post the link but I can't be arsed wasting 20 minutes of my shítty existence Devil

It was on the Old Grey Whistle Test where he fell off the amp singing Cheryl`s Going Home.

Enjoy..

Excellent, Percy Filth!

I thought it was TOGWT that he did it on - and that was where I looked on YouTube the other night - but of Really Free.

However, I think there's a more spectacular fall by him on some other performance where he falls off the amp and really comes down with a crash that sends everything haywire.
It might be just my imagination, but that's how I remember it.

Read his autobiography (I Did It Otway)- he used to damn near kill himself and or his roadie some of the onstage stunts he'd pull

Never heard of the bloke and looking at footage of him on youtube I won't be rushing to see him.

Fair enough roger. It would appear that his stories are better than his songs.

I'd rather listen to John Otway than the Carpenters or Spandau Boring Ballet anyday!

I heard also that Wild Willy barrett once cancelled a live gig because he was watching the world cup on tv!

My mate went to see John Otway a few weeks ago expecting a gig and he gave a power point presentation on him being the most unsuccessful/useless man in rock music. Said it was very funny.

I can imagine. He's a very funny man.

Time to have another listen to his latest - 'OK Father Christmas'.

It really gets into your head!:

Apparently , he showed a video of his mum saying that he had no discernible talent for music when he was younger and failed to get in the school choir so she was quite surprised with his career choice of becoming a rock star.Laugh

I am on the verge of advertising this song via the medium of facebook.  Not because the song is good, but because it isnt x factor.  However he does look like a total n.nce.  Has he ever been a friend of jimmy saville?  He certainly looks like he could have been.

Too late i have already posted it by total accident, meant to post SL2.  Seriously he does look like a wrongun, and he is from the era.  Regardless the song is growing on me.

Rob, he's always looked pretty crackers. Never even considered him being a wrong un though.

It's a cracking song when you've listened to it a few times. I keep having to have a fix of it every few hours!

He's an Aylesbury bloke and there's never been a hint of anything to do with Savilry about him.

Plenty of other stories of his lunacy, but Savilry - never.

seen him a few times always puts on a good show, remember him launching himself off a speaker and doing a forward roll from about 5ft high, daft as a brush but very funny.

GG Allin Laugh There is a youtube clip of him (I'm not searching for it by the way, one viewing is quite enough) where during the gig, bollock naked of course, he has the most hideous bout of diarrhea on stage and duly rolls about in it getting completely caked in the process. He then runs off stage and tries to hail a yellow cab, as you do. The camera was still on him and one cab did pull over only to see the state of him and the driver made his excuses and left sharpish Shocked

I've just read the report on Palace against Stoke Tommy and seems like a draw was a fair result.

I've just tried to watch some stuff, Foyleswar, but every time I click on something YouTube is asking me to sign in as the content may be 'inappropriate for some users'!

I'm fed up with creating accounts here there and everywhere and entering passwords and trying to remember them - so I most certainly aren't going to do a YouTube one.

I'll just have to imagine him belting someone over the bonce with a spirits bottle. That's good enough for me!

Yes Slippy. I was listening to the match on local radio and the draw was a fair result.

yeah tommy his concerts looked "fun" just watched part of one and it must be in his "calm period " he is bollack naked smothered in his own  blood and is fighting with  a few fans  nothing too extreme just sticking the boot in and haymakers ,he actually rammed a mic in his own gob and lost 6 teeth whilst "performing live "
