Schumacher was voted the most hated man in France shortly after that tackle. Hitler came second.
I am definitely revising my 'most dirtiest' selection to Harald Schumacher.
Schumacher was spur of the moment and occurred during competition. If Schumacher had sent some cronies round with an iron bar with the intention to break Platini's legs while he was relaxing in the hotel bar then he would come close to emulating Tonya Harding.
