School trip in the mid '80s for me, can't believe anyone will have gone there since about 1990, and certainly not without some form of duress. Anyone been more recently? How does it survive?

I haven't been since the 80s but I drive past there from time to time and there's always a queue.

Sounds like the Blackpool one is now a Madame Tussaud's too, although it had nowt on Great Yarmouth...

It was closed in 2010 and re-opened as Madame Tussauds in 2011. Louis Tussaud's waxwork museum in Great Yarmouth, which closed in October 2012, had been described as the world's worst waxworks museum because so many of its models look nothing like the people they are supposed to represent.

My mate has just come back from there and loved the display of famous musicians. He was waxing lyrical about it.

The staff told my mother-in-law to keep moving in the chamber of horrors as they were stocktaking.

Not been since 1990-ish.

One of the uniformed staff was stood by the staircase perfectly still, with a finger pointing up the stairs.

I told my youngest daughter, who was 6, she was allowed to touch his finger.

Should have seen her jump when he said 'Ouch' in a loud voice.Laugh

Went to another one, can't remember where it was, and the kids got me to stand next to Arnie Schwarznegger for a photo. Talk about exaggerated size Laugh he was facking massive, and as big as I am, it was like looking at Willie Carson standing next to Clare Balding.

They make the mistake of modelling your heroes life-size, and they're mostly much smaller than you think. Plus they're inert, so the whole experience is extremely underwhelming.

lad from my local went with his family last weekend cost him £130, also they were charging a tenner a photo.

20 years ago at least  - spooky, weird place ...................didn't like it at all. My Daughter went two years ago, youngest was too scared to go in and it cost a small fortune for the rest of her family. I could think of far better days out to spend the hard earned cash on.
