Good afternoon everyone.
I need some technical advice regarding an Apple iPhone 4 if anyone could be so kind, please.
The phone was working perfectly last night but, noticing that the battery was running rather low, I plugged it in to charge overnight. When I tried to turn it on this morning, however, the only thing I can get up on the screen is a picture of what appears to be an empty battery featuring a small red line on the bottom end. Moreover, I can only get this on the screen whilst it is still connected to the mains; unplugged and nothing illuminates at all.
I presume that this means the battery is buggered and I need to purchase a replacement. Or could there be another reason? If I do need a new battery, could some kind sould please point me to the appropriate one on eBay?

If your iPhone suddenly freezes or is just not working right, you can do a hard reset by following these simple instructions:
Press and hold the Home button (big circle below the screen) and the Sleep/Wake button (on top of the iPhone) simultaneously. Hold both buttons until the iPhone shuts off and begins to restart. try that |

The symbol that you're seeing on the phone is saying the phone's battery is dead and it's charging, but there's not enough charge to actually do anything just yet. If you're sure that the charger is working fine, sounds like your battery is cooked. As for taking apart an iPhone, I'm barely capable of holding one, let alone anything like that. So I'll defer to someone else. |

I have already tried that, sir. The empty battery icon just flashes a few times (along with the charger connection icon) and then it all goes permanently blank. |

The battery wasn't completely dead last night, it still had about twenty-five percent remaining. The act of putting it on recharge seems to have buggered it.

Has anyone got the IPhone6? I need 4g and seriously thinking about this one. It came top in the "Which" report, as did the IPhone5.

Seriously, though, a friend of mine has the iPhone 6. It is indeed very nice, but you might want to consider a Samsung as well.

My phone has just popped back to life!
A message on the screen said some sort of update had just completed. The battery level is at one percent, but it's rising. I'll keep my fingers crossed. |

a friend of mine has the iPhone 6. It is indeed very nice, but you might want to consider a Samsung as well.
2 phones! Good idea, but will stretch my budget. |

iPhone 6 is brilliant. My old 4s feels like a brick when I pick it up now and 4G is faster than my wifi at home.
