Really did get progressively worse. Goldeneye was a real classic, Tomorrow Never Dies was very good, The World is not Enough was decidedly average and Die Another Day was basically a Johnny English film.
Hope the current producers don't let the Craig films become too CGI, special effects & cartoonish villain heavy. Bond films need a enough cliche to be recognisable but not so much that they become a parody. Both Brosnan and Moore made that mistake. Timothy Dalton's films went too much the other way.

Goldeneye was as good as it got, you are spot on thunder I have thought exactly the same thing with the bonds in recent years, tbf one of craigs bond films was affected by a writers strike and he had to write it himself, the franchise itself is cheapened a bit with the endless repeats on TV, with films, I don;t like the endless special effects and camera trickery either, it's like directors feel they are not worth their salt unless they outdo their competitors......look at shawshank redemption, one of the best in it's simplicity

Taffin was a terrific film imo, one of the few he's done that I've enjoyed... another was The Matador, come to think of it I've not seen many bad films from miramax

Personally I really enjoyed The World Is Not Enough.
Die Another Day was a real low note to go out on though. License To Kill is one of my all time fav Bond films , probably because I find it more reminiscent of the books. |

Ive been told by quite a few people that i look like Pierce, specially with regard to james bond efforts. Tho he probably looks healthier.
