Windsor, in real life Higgins was a truly repulsive individual. I idolised him in the early days but as you say his true nature was exposed over the years. It doesn't take away from the fact though that he was a major contributor to the growth in popularity of the game. |

There will never be another alex hurricane Higgins the only reason why snooker still exists today,sports been dead for the last 15 years Hendry took it to another level and the 90s was a cracking era.Alex higgins was a genius but an alcoholic so was rarely at his best when he was,he could've beaten anyone gave davis an 8 frame start and still beat him.Those qualities don't exist in the modern game,it's all to easy..

there was a guy called Cliff Wilson from Wales who all the pros like Reardon, Grittiths at the time said was the best potter they had seen, sadly he got cataracts and had to give the game up, a very entertaining character who very rarely played a safety shot
