Got a Vaillant Ecotech Pro 28 boiler.

I've had error code F61 twice, once on Tuesday & again this afternoon.

I know its something to do with the gas valve. On both occasions I just re-set the boiler by pressing the re-set button then fine (for a couple of days).

Trouble is, I've currently got no boiler cover (silly me).

Any help much appreciated thanks.

Get some boiler cover and keep resetting the boiler for a couple of weeks then call them in.

That's just what I was thinking Dr C.

Hopefully that'll do the trick until then? Sad

keep re-setting it for a few weeks and then you will never have to worry about boiler cover again

Another question about Combi Boilers.  Is the output from the flue harmful at all?  Its just that I've been breathing in rather a lot of it recently.

Probably just needs the circuit board changing, they can get heat damage....

Is there anything I can do just to kid it along until my boiler cover kicks in a few weeks?

smack it with a hammer or give it a boot , this works for most things

You could pretend it's summer and just turn it off. That should kid it along for ages. Yonks, even.

I've got something similar but it's LPG, although all boilers in this range have the same error codes apparently.
F.61 here means the gas valve control is defective.
