For some strange reason ALL my discs are deemed to be 'copy protected' by my recorder when I try to tape something and I was wondering whether my recorder's knackered or if the discs are the problem as it was about 18 months ago that I last bought some.

I tried the same dozen or so discs in another recorder I have and that too results in the same problem - I haven't a clue what's going on and I'm wondering whether there's something in the settings that needs adjusting.

I think your problem is trying to tape something on a DVD recorder.

are you saying that you cannot record from the hard drive on to the discs?

MrB - I want to make some space on the HDD so I've tried to record things I want saving (reluctant to delete) onto DVD.
Apparently every disc I have is apparently 'copy protected' and I've never seen that message before Confused

PS - I went to Asda earlier to get some blanks DVDs and the greasy fcukers are refusing to sell the rewritable ones nowadays Sad
Surely TWO DVD recorders can't have the same problem at the same time so I'm assuming it's because the discs may be old & worn.
