I notice that Jason Roberts was on the short listing panel, although I find it hard to understand what qualifies a journeyman footballer to play such a role.  Honestly, it's insulting and imo hypocritical.

McIlroy or Hamilton would be deserving winners.  World Cup and Ashes was rubbish.  Murray was disappointing.  But no rugby or cricket or athletics world cup/champs, no summer olympics there is only so many opportunities to have success.  Think we got a few golds at gymnastics world champs and a winter olympic gold.

Rory for me but if you want a 'personality' what about this character from the Olympics.

Saw the picture and could only recognise Froch , Pavey ,Bale , McIlroy & Hamilton ......think they will have to be 'generous' with the votes cast for their inclusive choices.

I hope Pavey wins it , here never say die attitude was terrific , the young Brits trailing in her wake were a shambles.
