I've done a fair bit of traveling this month and it seems to me that there are major roadworks all over the place. However there never seems to be much going on but there is one particular stretch of motorway that amazes me. M1 j19-j15 wtf is going on there! Must be a forty mile stretch of constant cones and traffic management but the work is only being done by four or five workers who always seem to be chatting when i drive past! ffs get 100's Poles in to do the job and it would be complete in a fortnight Angry

I have a tip for the roadworks. Most have 50mph average speed cameras. Therefore on a long stretch of roadworks if you know you are going to drop into services for a toilet stop and a KFC you can go along at 70mph.

It can't be any worse than the M62 in West Yorkshire!

This has been going on for years with something like a six mile stretch at a time down to 50 limit and cameras every half mile or so.
Night and day and every day and never seen any real activity.

They've removed the "Arnco" barriers and are building something on the lines of the great wall of China.

What a waste of money which will clearly be billions of pounds, that could be put to much better use.

I used the M62 for the first and last time a few years ago.

Crawled along for miles on end, then it becomes a free for all when the cameras stop appearing.

Can't see what the lower speed limit achieved.
