I'm a bit surprised as well mac that STUDYFORM voted for Thatcher, that would have been huge odds against in my book.

I was just turned 18 and very very naïve, tmc. It was her 1st go at the job btw,

If only I could turn the clock back.... for so many reasons.

I voted D and would do the same again tomorrow if she wasn't pushing up daisies

I can understand how some people loved/hated Thatcher

For the life of me I can't understand how anyone loved Blair {keeping the Tories out can surely be the only reason)

His long term legacy will be far more damaging than Thatchers.

The country was in turmoil and under the rule of the unions when Thatcher came to power and we needed someone like her to deal with it.
The only problem was that she didn't know when to stop and after crushing the unions power she continued on the working man.
At that time I was following in my fathers footsteps as a labour voter but the way they succumbed to the unions sickened me.
Ideally you want a strong but willing to compromise union and government unfortunately in this case neither were for turning.

Blair sent armed troops into the Middle East where they could engage and kill jihadists at source. Without the expeditions to Iraq and Afghanistan those jihadists would have happily carried on coming west to confront and kill unarmed civilians.

The lies and the dubious motives he used to push through that policy make him a very easy target. But I'm convinced that without it we in the UK and the rest of the world would never have enjoyed over a decade of relative peace and safety after the encouragement which Islamist murderers must have gained from the spectacular success of 9/11.

So, I don't regret having voted for him.

Sorry screaming but I don't remember any attacks in the uk by jihadists before either war.

I did not vote for either but when Labour took over in 97 this country was in a good state and the only reason Tories were outed was sleaze. There was low unemployment and a strong economy.

Over the next 13 years Labour ignored it's own people and flittered money like there was no tomorrow. That should be enough to hail Blair as the worst PM of the two but the fact that he brought terror to these islands for his lies and that he now earns so much whilst Britains have lost loved ones and Iraq is in such a mess means he goes down as the worst ever. Blair got lucky when Smith died.

A - like many people I was fooled by the cnt

A - Was always a Labour voter, although it was Gordon Brown and Dawn Primarolo that caused me most problems.

Blair/Campbell lies & spin doctoring just made it worse and ensured I'll never vote for them again without dramatic change.

It seems every single person, bar me, who voted for Blair reckons he let them down. So why the hell did you keep returning him to power?

The man won three consecutive General Elections ffs. Three! The man must have been doing what you expected of him, or why else did you all keep voting for him?
