am told the people on princess street ,main shopping street in edinburgh  begging are on around 200 a day week days and more weekends ! most are polite but you get some howling abuse , they should be removed imo a would say 75 % are not from uk ! apparently a mob of them going around in a van collect all the cloths left out side charity shops and flogging them ! they need flogging !

mart your 19.10 post,what the fark has that got to do with mental health?  To many people look at people with mental helath problems as someone,walking around with a long knife in their hands covered in blood.Many differing forms of mental health problems and most not very nice for the person suffering from them.

Sj I work in a picu and raspberry bottom you are right,might be part of his delusion,might just be a tight get,there is so many different people suffering with mental health issues,from all walks of life,solicitors,doctors,footballers,super league rugby players and your local drinkers and drug takers !

two stories not apocraphale ie i saw this myself ....,, two years ago my ist visit to edinburgh for a few years beggars on princess st ,my visit b4 they seemed few and far between ... yet i was walking from the station to a nice pub called the dome all rennie mcintosh maybe half mile ... every 150yds beggars all wimin all colourfull attired all i assume roma ... but thats just a guess ... as i passed each one it was about 7.30 and summer so still light i went to meet the girl i was meeting as i went up steps to pub ... big black carpulled up,,, huge guy in overcoat got out with an even bigger minder ... placed a laptop on waste bin outside the dome and proceeded to enter amounts given to him on spread sheet by the now growing group of beggars some of which i had passed on way to the dome... the bigger guy gave all of them a plactic wrapped sandwicih and a carton of juice ... i said the the bouncer whats this ,,, he said it happens every night ,i said you allow it ... he said y cant cross these guys .so should i givbe to beggers how can i decide who need it and who is in the gang .

then this morning im looking after a flat renovation in leith edinburgh ... i open back door to wooden balcony overlooking an enclosed courtyard in an old block of tenements ,,, two floors higher on a roof is a guy standing on the edge of the parapet ,,,i think ohh my god and say are y ok he mutters something and sways forward ...i say be careful and say again are y ok ... trying to decide is he a burgular or a person with drug and or mental health issues ,,,, i try to tell him to move back but if i speak he sways so decide to ring police ,,,, they arrive in about 30 mins ,,,eventually get him down ,,, hes bviously got probs ,,, young guy 23 covered in mud ,,, he must have been tripped out previous night and got lost ... police called ambulance and he was escorted away ... police came back said he was now ok had his methodone and dropped off near his phycyatric nurse ... i sdaid would he get help .. he said if he wants it he will get it ... but most dont want it ... i said why cant he be taken to a secure place and get help ... the cop smiled and said yr talking about 40yrs ago sir ,,, now people have rights ... what will happen to him he said he will eventually fall or get hit by a car or ..... the point im making is why cant they be made to accept help...

I WORKED IN A MENTAL ASYLUM FOR 4 YEARS ....WE HAD A GIRL THAT USED TO CADGE FOOD AND WE WAS UNDER STRICT INSTRUCTIONS NOT TO ......YOU COULD TELL SHE WAS AGOOD LOOKING GIRL BUT HER BOYFREIND HAD PUT A PLASTIC BAG OVER HER HEAD AND SET FIRE TO THE BAG SHE GOT IF AS THE BAG HAD MELTED IN TO HER FACE ABOVE HER TOP LIP ...BUT IT HAD TIPPED HER OVER THE EDGE...SHE ASKED FOR FOOD EVERY WEEK AND I GOT TO KNOW HER PRETTY WELL ...THIS PARTICULAR FRIDAY I CUD SEE THAT SHE WASNT HER USUAL SELF AND I MENTIONED IT TO THE DOC ,HE DISMISSED IT AS NUFFIN TO WORRY ABOUT .....FRIDAY NIGHT IM OUT ON THE LASH AND ON THE SATURDAY IM ON THE 6AM SHIFT I COMES IN THE BACK WAY AT 5.30 STILL HALF PIZZZ...WHEN IN THE GROUNDS THE SCREENS WERE UP WHICH IS NOIT A GOOD SIGN ...I FINDS OUT LATER SHED HUNG HERSELF DURING THE NIGHT ...I GOT INTERVIEWD BY THE HOSPITAL HIERACHY AND I JUST TOLD THEM WHAT I THOUGHT ON THE FRIDAY THAT SHE WASNT RIGHT .....ITS A FUNNY OLD WORLD IVE SEEN SOME POOR SAD THINGS ..THATS MEMTAL HEATH AND GT YARMOUTH BOOKMAKERS FOR YA
