You couldn't pay me enough money to watch this.

It would be far too upsetting.

The cinematography on this so far has been stunnning, it should have won an oscar, I might switch off at sad bits though Blush

Quite a few spoilers here but I've not seen it before.

So I'm guessing the first sad bit is when they get to market at harvest and they realise no one likes turnipsConfused

M_D, have you not seen it then? If you haven't, it's probably not as bad as you think it might be, if that makes sense? If you want a proper sad animal fil, try ring of bright water, which unlike war horse was actually a true story.

Would never watch Ring of Bright Water either, Mr B.

War Horse would be every bit as bad as I think.

The thought of the army turning up to force me to sell my beloved horse (when he was alive) to them, to go to war, is the stuff of nightmares.

I believe some people shot their horses before the army could take them. I would have done the same.

Horses and other animals are suffering in war zones today. It's heartbreaking.

Probably won't sleep tonight, thinking about it Sad

I like horses to. I've no interest in riding one though. Maybe I'll get a couple Shetland ponies someday. "Back and Lay" I'll call them Laugh

I still dream about buying Spirit River and retiring him, he has been tailed off in sellers so the dream is still alive.

This has just reminded me of something AP McCoy once said.

He said if he had to choose a horse to go to war with it would have been Gloria Victis.

RIP Gloria Victis Sad

Jeez I'm having an upsetting evening all round, here.

Night night

I didn't realise Dartmoor was so hilly, I always imagined it as flat, it looks more like the Yorkshire dales or something.
