Those YouTube videos somebody posted up last year (an old guy being interviewed about Elm Guest House) are beginning to sound plausible.

If the worst of it is true, you can't imagine MI5 letting everything come out.

An article discussing past cover-ups of alleged powerful nonces in public institutions. An article from The Telegraph, a usually very pro-establishment mainstream Tory newspaper. Their readers should be spitting their cornflakes out over articles like that more often, so I think it's worth a click.

It's news that something might start to be done about it, maybe we'll get a proper investigation to see if there's any truth in the allegations, we can hope. It's good news that things like this are being widely reported in the mainstream media now.

The People is now talking about unnamed (so presumably still alive) former Conservative MPs murdering and witnessing the murder of young boys. Whether there is any corroborating evidence for any of this (say, young boys reported missing shortly afterwards) is unclear. One double standard is that former DJs and comedians have been arrested and in one or two cases even convicted on not much more than weight of allegations, and for crimes a long way short of murder.

The Elm Street Guest House was run as a homosexual brothel. That much is in the open as the owner was found guilty of running a disorderly house. If that was all it was then nobody is going to bother much about a place that closed over 30 years ago,but there have been unsavoury rumours about the place for years now.

A paedophile who ran children's homes in Wrexham has been jailed for life for sexually assaulting youngsters in a campaign of abuse spanning decades.

John Allen, 73, of Needham Market, Suffolk, had denied 40 counts of sex abuse against 19 boys and one girl in the late 1960s up to the early 1990s.

He was sentenced at Mold Crown Court on Monday after being convicted of 33 charges last week.

The judge ordered Allen must serve a minimum of 11 years in jail.

Before a packed public gallery Mr Justice Openshaw said: "There have no doubt been more prolific offenders but seldom can there be so many grave offences committed on so many victims over a long period of time, causing so much anguish and misery."

After sentencing, children's charity the NSPCC said Allen's "reign of terror over a dark period of several decades puts him high up the scale of the most prolific child abusers of recent times".

There is still so much that troubles me. Can we really trust a press, police force, and politicians who - apparently - ignored, hid something for decades, when they are the ones telling us this? The idea that the establishment can get anyone off the hook, and kill any story they want too seems slightly implausible when the Daily Express, without any evidence, have been suggesting that Prince Philip had Princess Diana murdered, for the last twenty years. Every day, in every paper, there are negative stories about the so-called establishment, a lot of them frankly nonsense. If there WAS something, why would they not have exposed it? That's a genuine question - I don't know the answer.
