Tulio Halperín Donghi (born October 27, 1926 - November 14, 2014) was an Argentine historian.
Halperín Donghi was born in Buenos Aires, in 1926. He received both a juris doctor and a Doctorate in History from the University of Buenos Aires in 1955. Halperín Donghi then became one of Latin America's most renowned historians. Exiled in 1966 following the "Night of the Big Batons," he divided his time between the University of California and the University of Buenos Aires. He was given an award for Scholarly Distinction from the American Historical Association in 1998, and authored numerous books.
