Just spent a few days in the hospital with my boy and for me it's watching Peep Show. Laughing at the absurdities of Mark and Jez's lives makes me forget my worries for a bit Happy  you?

Hank, I have spent the last two weeks going to King's College Hospital every day for about three hours. It gets me down but I have to do it as I'm the only sibling left in London now. What cheers me up is helping other visitors and patients and sharing out the goodies I bring that Ma doesn't want. The old biddy in the oppposite bed to Ma got a slice of quiche and bag of liquorice alsorts which she seemed very pleased about.

Another thing that has cheered me up is that my niece has edited a book which has been published, I haven't read it yet though but fair play to Lucy.

I was gonna say sport or food or booze, but hank is on the money there.  Not peep show for me... Only fools and horses or dads army, both really cheer me up.
Report Mc Moonbeam November 13, 2014 10:59 PM GMT
Personally if I'm low I'm not a cheerful soul I just withdraw from the world completely
I like to take drugs & watch deep dark eery stuff , before I eventually feel normal again

as much as I love Fools & Horses if I'm low it just doesn't interest me & wouldn't even utter a laugh

The thing that really cheers me up though is nature & wildlife programs , reminds me of what a brutal world it really is & then I get on with hunting for more food Mischief

Hey, McMb - life is hard and then you die.  But the great news is you're relatively young and given a moderate supply of money you can - and will be - one of the most fortunate beings ever to grace this planet.  Some of the most talented humans on the planet dedicate their existence to pleasing you - so much great television/satellite (sadly not the BBC).  And free porn beyond desire.

Man up!

Music does it for me as I'm sure for a lot of people.
Any number of pieces can do it -two of my favourites are Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony and Handel's Water Music.
they never fail to lift my spirits

Well - If you want cheering up  - then - the LAST thing that you want to do is ....

Listen to that insular miserable **** Murray bemoaning getting beaten in an entirely inconsequential game of repetitively boring, week in week out, Tennis.
Report Gnarley November 14, 2014 4:23 AM GMT
I find gazing at my own reflection in the mirror does it for me.
With the added thought of "'Kin'ell, chin up son, that could be you!".
Failing that I'll pick up the old acoustic and eventually things seem to ease.
