Some online bookmakers are simply not worth the time opening an account with as they close you so quickly. This is related to gambling on horseracing.
Hopefully this thread can help new punters save time by knowing which big bookies to avoid, and help seasoned punters find new emerging bookies that will lay a bet and can be trusted to honor it.
Below are my experiences with bookmakers, it would be good for other forum members to copy and paste the below body and insert the experience they have had with them. Additional bookmakers can be included in replies, especially if they will take a racing bet.
BET365 – Good prices, will take a bet for a for a decent amount of time but eventually you’ll be limited to next to nothing if getting value
Skybet – Terrible, stakes are very low from the off and will only benefit a recreational punter. Prices are poor.
Totesport – Will take bets for 1-2 weeks until they realize you are getting value. Will then reduce your stake and if you continue to do well, limit you to next to nothing.
**** – Will take 2-3 bets and if you are getting value, your account is as good as closed.
Betfred – Take your bets at first but once you have a good day your account is more than likely gone.
Sportingbet – Will take 2-3 bets and if you are getting value, your account is as good as closed.
Betvictor – Will send a big bet to a trader and refuse it if it’s value. I tried to back one horse, bet was rejected and I got an email saying my account had been closed. Didn’t get any bets on with them!
Paddypower – Will take bets for a while, then limit your stake to a more than reasonable amount for a recreational punter and give you a decent amount of time at this stake.
Stanjames – Will take about 5 bets and if you’re getting decent value your account is restricted
888sport – Will take bets until you win four figures on one, then your account is basically closed. Will try sneaky ways to not pay you out.
Ladbrokes – Will take your bets for the longest of anybody on this list, although prices are not very competitive
Coral – Rarely take over 50 on a horse and send everything else to the trader, which takes a very long time
Willhill – Will take bets for a decent amount of time but eventually you’ll be limited to next to nothing if getting value
Winner – Will take an OK size bet on a FAV but no other bets. Once you win 2/3 favs in a row it’s game over.
Spreadex – Not used them, what have other forumites experienced?
Betfair sportsbook - Not used them, what have other forumites experienced?
Betway - Not used them, what have other forumites experienced?
Betbright – Gave good prices but after one decent winner account was shut
Titanbet - Not used them, what have other forumites experienced?
Racebets - Not used them, what have other forumites experienced?
Unibet - Not used them (due to very bad reviews of seizing funds from players), what have other forumites experienced?
32red - Not used them, what have other forumites experienced?
Bragbet - Not used them, what have other forumites experienced?
Paddypower are the absolute scumbags of the industry
32Red will take some sizeable bets but I've only used them a couple of times , and lost
BetVictor I find very good at the moment they offer competitive prices on Soccer / outrights etc . but I'm not a horseracing punter
Bet365 / Coral will take a bet but don't always offer the best prices
Never had a problem with Lads or Hills but rarely bet with them as they just rob you via their prices so no wonder they'll take any amount , any time from anybody

Keep away from Titan Bet ... They are an absolute nightmare when trying to get paid out. Will come up with many bizarre reasons to hold on to your money.

Betfair sportsbook - Not used them, what have other forumites experienced?
Prices seem to be no better than a high street bookies and the limit is £1,000,000 per day, per client. They will find you if you have multiple accounts.
As for getting accas on, I have had trouble navigating to WTA tennis matches.
On several occasions there are matches that are being played in 24 hours that you can bet on, but matches that are being played in 18 hours that you can't bet on.
It may seem daft, but imo, the ones that are missing look to be 'nailed on' matches, very short prices.
On the other hand I tried to put on a 6 timer a few months ago, but couldn't find the 6th match anywhere, only 6 hours before she was due to play. I stuck with the 5 timer.
The player in my last match. Roberta Vinci, was beaten.
A few weeks ago I had a 5 fold with Marcos Baghdatis as my last leg, who according to Betfair was playing at 5-00 a.m. on Monday.
I looked in before going to bed on Sunday night to see what price I could hedge at, and he had already won!! I'd have been well annoyed if he had lost.
I've got no high street accounts. Betfair sportsbook - Not used them, what have other forumites experienced?Prices seem to be no better than a high street bookies and the limit is £1,000,000 per day, per client. They will find you if you have multi
I did have a multiple bet at some really big prices at the Ebor York meeting, and that was when the message came up.
Got more chance of me converting to Islam than winning that much

a lot of the lesser names like Unibet / 888 are the same firms with exact same prices , just check oddschecker & you'll see
I don't think they are the same firms but 888 used to use Bsq software and prices but when bsq sold out to betfair 888 had to find a new provider and picked possibly the worst one they could in unibet

I can but it's not easy at my age. Got a mate to do it mainly.
Take the 6-25 Kempton. Lads going 1/4 the odds a place (the only ones) and they will take a lumpy bet.Plus there's some big priced horses so the race has a nice shape for ew. Did Princes Trust 6/1, Cladocera 20/1 and Sloane Ave 7/1 all ew.

As a value seeking horse racing punter the only trustworthy bookies I get decent mileage out of an online account are:
Ladbrokes, powers, willhill, bet365, totesport, stanjames. A bit worse are spoils and 888sport.
Any other sites worth my time?

Going on from what Fattie says the most profitable betting shops are the ones with high slippage and a low pence per slip average. So big punters not welcome unless they are mugs spilling a lottery win.

Other than Ladbrokes, powers, willhill, bet365, totesport, stanjames is there any other accounts worth opening that will take even 5-10 decent sized bets before closing me down?

bet365 are the only company that take a reasonable bet
willhill, ladbrokes and coral only offer me low limits
paddys, boyles, betvictor, betfred, skybet, tote are a complete waste of time

Has anyone found any of the above companies to be "untrustworthy" when trying to withdraw funds?
Of the ones I've used 888sport are the only ones to keep an eye on, they've not processed my withdrawal and not sent me any notification about it until I asked them a few weeks later where the funds were and then they'll ask for proof of identity, address etc. So if you have multiple accounts and are unorganized you might assume that the withdrawal has gone through and forget about it while 888 keep your funds.
Reading SBR, unibet (who will take over stanjames) have a very bad reputation, betway seem to have cleaned up their rep, whereas there's no info on the likes of racebets and betbright.
