We have Trident right now. Why not wait and save the £100 billion bill - we are supposedly needing 20 billion for the NHS shortfall in a few years? Seems like a no brainer.

It's not as if we actually own the warheads - we lease them from the USA. It is also been said that we cannot fire a missile without the USA's permission. Since we took on Polaris in the sixties That's been the case. Like a controlling mechanism from the United States. We currently have to buy 58 trident warheads under lease? To be finalized in a 2016 vote.

The USA only began sharing nuclear tech with us after we proved we had the bomb in the fifties. They soon gave us Polaris. Trident came in with Thatcher.

I jumped from windows 95 to windows xp - there really is no need to get every upgrade. Wait and get Trident Max in twenty years?
