10pm - Cosmos: A Personal Voyage
23.40 - The Day the Universe Changed.
Cosmos is the main reason I have a passion for Astronomy. It may seem dated but it's a science masterpiece. Carl Sagan has a way with words that will enchant you and it's accompanied by some great classical music. If you've never seen this before then it's a must watch. If this were shown to every schoolchild then I think the World would be a better place.
I'm hoping this is the original UK version that was shown back in 1980. There are some subtle differences between the US and UK version and there's also a remastered version that I own the boxset. It would be great to watch the original again.
The Day the Universe Changed is also a good show. James Burke (who is still alive!) delves into history to examine things like when the Telescope was invented. Really interesting watch that I haven't seen in a couple of years.

 James looked pretty old when the series was made, I was surprised he was still alive. I thought he was a lot older TBH. You're right though, 77 is not that old these days, I've a mate who turned 84 the other day and I'd a pint at the match with him yesterday. Cosmos is my favourite TV program ever, I could watch it again and again. There's some great quotes from Carl and it's more about our place in the Universe and our tenure on the planet. I watched the Neil de Gasse Tyson version of this show and while I enjoyed it, it's not a patch on this series. This is a masterpiece. |

I'm almost sure this is the original version if not the UK version. Noticed a couple of things that differ from the "enhanced" boxset I own.

Cox seemed petrified of Blessed, adjusted his posture to face Roberts, you could see Blessed was trying to talk and getting blanked.
