When I was somewhat younger, the only person I ever saw who was gay (may just have been effeminate) was "Keithy" at "The Roundabout" in Wakefield.
He of the pink sweaters and bouffant hair. May just have been "camp"

If people were gay it wasn't something I was ever aware of back then.

Today, watch any programme such as "Four In A Bed", "Escape To The Country" etc and they are rampant!

10.  Crisp, 1973 Grand National

A magnificent display of leaping under a 'train-stopping' weight ends in heartbreak, but also maximum respect and glory at the same time.
