The appointment of Ms Woolf tells us that the tories are absolutely sh1tt1ng themselves about the truth coming out.
First they appoint Butler-Schloss, thinking that the public would be happy that any sort of enquiry is better than none.
She resigns due to public pressure, then nothing for 3 months.
Finally,in desperation, they bring in Leon Brittons neighbour, Ms Woolf, under the hope that if they pay her enough, she will bluff it out over a few years and come up with a
Hutton style, 1000 page report, that glosses over the main issue, and says nothing.
Who next Theresa ?

Woolf should clearly not have been appointed in the first place but it is a bit of a tough job description: an Establishment figure of retirement age (so they have a clear calendar for a year or two) who has never met any other Establishment figures of similar age whose names might come up in evidence.

BBC news today suggested May might have to look abroad for the next candidate!!!

What have we become??? Surely  anyone with half a brain could speak to the right people and ask the right questions???

I reckon you could find a businessman who would do this in their sleep.

Victims want Michael Mansfield, he says he is willing to talk about it (has other commitments), so should start there

When asked what type of person the government should seek to chair the committee, Woolfe answered  ' a hermit ?'

Such an arrogant and supercilious comment, precisely justifies why the abuse victims had no faith in her.

Mike Mansfield must have come across a few vulnerable teenagers during his "Supersonic" days, so is an obvious candidate.

They should get former England Rugby player Brian Moore to Chair this enquiry.

He's been the victim of child abuse
He's a trained lawyer
He gets to the heart of issues very quickly

Okay so he's been employed by the BBC (the source of much of what this enquiry will be about) and he has some political allegiances within the Labour Party, however I think victims groups would accept him and he'd command respect from those outside the political elite.

of course those respected figures who have been payed to serve the public, who no exactly what went on could fess up and we could save 3 or 4 years and many millions of pounds, but lets not hold our breath, whistleblowers should be offered an amnesty on the understanding that anyone found guilty after this amnesty is put against the wall and shot or have their meat and 2 veg attached to an electric probe,Devil
