Many years ago the Nazis decided that a school blackboard should be called a chalkboard or a whiteboard (ain't that convenient example of 'racism' overlooked?) though I'm a non-conformist and I won't allow myself to utter such balls...it always has been and will be a blackboard to me - and I would expect ANYONE normal to have the same view!
BUT for argument's sake...what I cannot get my skull around is the fact that words/phrases like blackmail & the black market aren't censored - that would be less of an insult as there is actually a semblance of a negative connotation (if you're a paranoid) with those two examples, whereas a blackboard is a harmless inanimate object with zero suggestion of any aspersion.
Who are these grammar police?
It can't all be down to bellend politicians
Or is it down to these genius 'think-tanks' (who the fcuk are they?) that know what's best for us?

According to a teacher friend, the blackboard thing is a bit of an urban myth and has more to do with them first turning green (easier to read, apparently) and then being replaced by whiteboards and now interactive whiteboards (and I've no idea what one of those is).
