They were no more than a Beatles tribute band.
One of the better ones but in reality that's all they were.
Report TheChaser • October 31, 2014 4:03 PM GMT

if their a tribute beatles band , then the beatles are just a tribute people like elvis and chuck berry  , ofcourse they are inspired by the beatles but every band is inspired by someone , unless your a simon cowell pop group

Seen them come and go but Liam is a great front man and singer. His role often underrated in Oasis.

Beatles are the most overated band in music's long history.
Report Howdi • October 31, 2014 4:39 PM GMT

Report TheChaser • October 31, 2014 10:40 PM GMT

Report TheChaser • October 31, 2014 10:47 PM GMT

I remember Noel on Ross's show telling the story of how his record company awarded him a RR but only gave Liam a Rolex when an album sold trillions.
He said the roller was wasted on him as he couldn't drive then added mind you the rolex was no good for Liam as he can't tell the time. Laugh

You can't argue with 'Oasis are a Beatles tribute band' merchants. It's almost like they've invested their whole self-worth in this statement and if they ever had to listen to 'Headshrinker' or 'Fade Away' and then point to where, in the Beatles entire body of work, they did Heavy Metal so brilliantly, they would curl up and die.
Report Mikael D'Haguenet • November 3, 2014 9:25 AM GMT
Similarly, you can't really argue with 'Oasis are the best band ever' merchants. They made ONE half-decent album. That's it.
Report minardi • November 3, 2014 9:52 AM GMT
John 92 - I have an original recording of Chicago 94 given to me by Oasis themselves in Salt Lake city at the Bar and Grill club ... there are many bootlegs of this but mine is original - only 300 pressed
Report jed.davison • November 3, 2014 11:31 AM GMT
This whole thread is a joke anyway, because anyone with half a brain knows Belle and Sebastian are the best band ever, and that the Stones were a thousand times better than the Beatles.
Report rogerthebutler • November 3, 2014 12:38 PM GMT
They made two brilliant albums and the best b-sides (remember those)of any band ever.

Actually, if you include 'The Masterplan' collection of b-sides, they made THREE brilliant albums :)
Report rogerthebutler • November 3, 2014 12:41 PM GMT
...and the best Oasis Concert ever was at The Arena, Amsterdam on 9th September 1994
Report Mikael D'Haguenet • November 3, 2014 1:05 PM GMT
They made ZERO brilliant albums. The first one is ok, the second one is barely-passable sh!te, and I don 't include The Masterplan, as it's not a proper album.
