After the second world war - The nation dumped the great Churchill and voted in the Clement Attlee Government. It's the only time the common man got a fair shake. They quickly brought in the NHS and Social Security.
The NHS is responsible for saving millions of lives since it's rocky start. My father had TB. I had major surgery too. It is a remarkable accomplishment over greed in politics. It's getting sold out by the back door, death by a thousand cuts. Attlee's government did all that in five years. then the British people voted them out? That's insane. They did not lead us into conflicts but set up a safety net for all. Yet they chuck them out of office.
