akabula 29 Oct 14 14:33 Seen any good knitting patterns lately?Just not sure about the hat though.http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-BVmnWzTsR3Y/TVyuONtPSFI/AAAAAAAAGHw/eMD3CO0eWEQ/s1600/021611_outfit_07.jpg
Hmmm. What a strange response by Akabula. I drink tea, and I enjoy a cup of tea. I don't have any fear of saying that and I certainly don't feel my sexuality, or lack of it, has any bearing whatsoever upon that enjoyment. Of course, if the situation was different and, for example, my sexuality might be a bit 'doubtful'...then I too might hide my bushel behind such macho posturings. MEN don't drink tea!! Maybe a bit of insecurity showing there...but does it really matter? No, not one bit. Sit down, I'll make us a nice cup of tea and you can tell us all about it.

I have no idea what tea I drink, I don't go shopping.
I also drink milk and orange lucozade (not together)
No coffee, it stinks, no alcohol (packed up)

IMO well worth paying a few extra coppers to get a decent cuppa.
People don't think twice paying £2/£3 for a cup of Starbucks or Costa, but skimp on paying an extra 50p/£1 for a box of tea bags i.e. isn't it worth an extra 1p for a decent cuppa?
Twinnings Assam is a nice strong cuppa, (or supermarkets own label best Assam)
Yorkshire Tea probably the best of the popular brands.

My favourite, and well worth a try if you've never drank it, is Co-Op's Indian Prince tea. My parents always drank it so I got used to it and prefer it to any other.

I don't mind as long as there is only a mouse swimming in mine. I wouldn't want a mug of tea with a herd of wildebeast in it!
Oh, that reminds me! whatever happened to that Betfair caption competition? It seems to have disappeared! Did anyone win? What was the winning caption?

I don't drink spirits, and drinking beer 2 nights a week and a Sunday lunchtime session while playing darts saw me gain over 5 stones in 9 years.
And in the end I wasn't even getting drunk, so I stopped.
Easy if you want to do it.

The Leopard 29 Oct 14 21:22 Fair enough....but you could have countered the weight gain with more exercise?
Changed my job for a manual one. Manual workers, imo, don't go to gymnasiums. Got down to 15-9 (lost nearly 3 stones) then got made supervisor and the weight loss stopped. Put just under 2 stones back on over the years. Weight now settled at 16-10 to 16-12.

I've moved on from mere tea to Dragonfly Rooibos tea, with vanilla. This isn't a real tea and it's South African (and therefore tough, not at all nancy). Very refreshing, I've been drinking it as a replace for coffee, it has no caffeine and is refreshing.

Twinings is good but Taylors of Harrogate is amazing. Just hard to get hold of it.

Taylors looks like its just good old yorkshire tea to me

Mrs F brings me a mug of tea in bed every morning, no milk, no sugar. No idea what's on the label, she buys it not me. Coffee the rest of the day and sometimes a cup of Redbush (like Flowermyth) in the evening as it's caffeine free.

Not normal Taylors, I only do Earl Grey. I meant Taylors is the daddy over Twinings for Earl Grey.

When we stay in a hotel or B&B we take our own tea bags,M&S Luxury Gold,as we can't be bothered with the standard fare provided, usually PG or Tetleys. We had a holiday in a hotel in Southwold a few weeks ago but forgot to take our own tea.Unable to face up to the prospect of drinking PG I bought a box of Taylors Yorkshire tea.I now flit between that and the M&S variety, but mostly drink the Yorkshire, though my wife and daughter have remained loyal to the latter.I'll have to subject them to a taste test.

PG for me , got 3 x boxes stocked up in my cupboard as I drink the stuff all day long , should really try & cut down
I tried the English Breakfast tea recently & is very decent King , but tend to just buy the odd box to alternate now as I think you get bored of the same brand just like anything else in life

"Bit of a contradiction there treble. No real man would drink tea." What an outrageous thing to say. It was real men drinking tea who built the empire. Try telling the peace loving pygmies of umboto gorge that they didn't face real men.
I drink anything as long as it's not too bitter. Yorkshire/COOP Fair trade/PG/Typhoo. Some I've tried, Nambarrie I think was one of them, are really bitter and horrible.
I make it in the mug but when I do it properly, milk first and then pour from a pot, it really does seem to taste better.
If you're a mug only person, give that a try, live a little.

For the past year I've been on Yorkshire Tea. I let the kettle boil and then give it a minute to settle. I then pour the water into a cup with one teabag and no sugar. It is then left for 5 minutes, sometimes a little longer but never shorter. I will stir the tea occasionally. When the time is up, I remove the teabag and add just a drop of skimmed milk. I like my tea strong. I always start the day with two cups of tea as I tend to be dehydrated after a night's sleep. These are then followed by a bowl of porage, but that's for another thread.

Yorskshire Tea is strong enough anyway .. but 5 minutes in the cup ... bloody thing'll be cold by that time
I'd have to dump it & make another one instead

Not that I'm aware of Pokermonster, perhaps we should ask him. I didn't bother doing the spadework on the banknote images one as one the key had been cracked I lost interest. There are some good coding puzzles in the cipher book I mentioned. Quite enjoyable to do. There was a time when a friend and I used to exchange messages using an Enigma simulator. Often wonder if it attracted the attention of "Eve" over in the USA. Never had a knock on the door though.

It's having a particular mindset Pokermonster, probably why we are on here. I like all sorts of puzzles and played chess most of my life. Not really into card games though and have never played Poker for blood.

I'd not heard of that one, F, but it sounds very enticing as I have tired a little of the vanilla one and didn't fancy the Earl Grey version. I'll look out for it, thanks.
