no but I could just eat some

A most unhealthy snack imo

What the hell does 'hand-cooked' mean? Devil
Report Aunty Post October 29, 2014 7:06 AM GMT
Exactly my first comment naydam!

I guess they must use a hand to chuck in the "Prime Pork" and stir it around (which must hurt a bit) before adding the "Cornish Sea Salt".

Is the dancing pig supposed to make you feel less guilty?
Report kenny mann October 29, 2014 12:31 PM GMT
At least the pork is reared from UK farm under the Red Tractor label, although that's nothing special.
Report Aunty Post October 29, 2014 12:44 PM GMT
That doesn't help the poor pig, which is thrown into a scalding tank when it is still alive!!!
Report kenny mann October 29, 2014 1:01 PM GMT
Well I certainly wasn't aware of that and don't eat bacon, or any meat come to that. Are you sure?
Report kenny mann October 29, 2014 1:03 PM GMT
I'm well aware of the pig pens which were abolished in the EU but certain countries continue to continue that cruel practice.
Report kenny mann October 29, 2014 1:04 PM GMT
too many continues there
Report Aunty Post October 29, 2014 2:18 PM GMT
kenny, unfortunately yes I am as I have seen it happen, and with the squeals of the poor animal!

I'm sure I could find some video on this, but would hesitate to post it!
Report kenny mann October 29, 2014 2:20 PM GMT
Good grief, Aunty. Which country is this in?
Report Aunty Post October 29, 2014 2:22 PM GMT
Here is the written evidence if you want to see it!

To watch it happen is obscene and upsetting.

I certainly don't want to see it. Where was it?

A most unhealthy snack imo

Compared to almost every vegetable oil-rich, carb-based, additive-containing crisp-type product you can buy these are positively health food. Robust saturated fat - no polyunsaturates, zero carbs and no additives I can see that are the basis of most crisp-type snacks.

kenny, just read about it in the link.

I think it is pretty universal, but presumably worse in countries like China, where they boil dogs alive because
they say it improves the eating!
Report kenny mann October 29, 2014 4:14 PM GMT
Ah yes, if they experience fear it improves the flavour of the meat. Heathens.
Report kenny mann October 29, 2014 4:14 PM GMT
Or is that Halal I'm thinking of.
Report Aunty Post October 29, 2014 4:39 PM GMT
No that isn't Halal kenny, it's just these Chinese heathens!

People eating stuff like cracking guarantees the dentists plenty of work.
Report Aunty Post October 30, 2014 2:47 AM GMT
Have to admit that I caved in and bought some from Home bargains, not knowing what to expect,
and concerned about wrecking my teeth on it.

I needn't have worried because it was just "melt in the mouth" and totally delicious. So much so that I got more later.

Pity that so much stuff that is delicious (e.g.wine, spirits, fish and chips, chocolate and pork scratchings etc)
is not good for you, except in moderation of course!

This product, and others like it, is the reason you can't buy Bacon with rind any more Sad
