Loved Dave playing the tough guy banging the lectern and shouting
"I will not be paying this on 1st December"
I imagine he then whispered behind his hand "but I might let them have it on the 2nd".

But yes, the general sentiment is bollocks. It says p1ss your economy up the wall if you like, there'll always be someone doing ok that will cover your arse for you.

Maybe we could make this really insulting and hand Germany millions of pounds on Remembrance Day?

For years I thought the motley crew on Chit Chat were idle layabouts who contributed nothing to society. Now I find out they are major contributors to the economy. Take a bow team.

Nothing Cameron can do about it...it's what the UK signed up for when it joined the EU. Maybe if they weren't too busy filling out their expense claims they would have noticed it in the terms and conditions.
Report rob_dylan October 25, 2014 1:24 AM BST
But we have been in the eu for forty years.  I havent ever heard of this rule before.  Have they been paying us in the past?

DC was making out it was a real liberty etc, but if we have signed up for it then why?  UKIP will be loving it.

Contributions are based on each member's VAT receipts and national income, and the adjustment takes into account the fluctuating size of economies.
Report themover October 25, 2014 1:34 AM BST
Britain has been systematically contributing too little to EU finances because its past estimates of gross national income have been too low. Having finally reached agreement with Eurostat, the European statistical agency, on how to measure its economy properly, Britain finds it is richer than it thought. Wealthier countries pay more to EU coffers and the UK has been presented with a bill to cover its underpayments for the years 2002-2013.

And what would happen if we dont reply?  They chuck us out?  Would save having a referendum.

Yeah vote UKIP.

Forget the 70 years of peace in Western Europe.
Women don't need equal pay.
Workers don't deserve paid holidays.
Just because we elect them, elected representatives shouldn't have to turn up and actually vote.
We don't need any specification on defence spending obviously - the 40% increase demanded in 2010 that has become " “The UK defence budget is adequate, but the apportionment is so poorly thought through as to border on the absurd,”  - well, we'll skirt that one.
How "Continue Trident in the short term, then replace it with four British-built submarines using American-made missiles to preserve an independent nuclear deterrent." has become, overnight, "“advanced nuclear cruise missiles to be delivered by air, sea or sub-surface combat units”, developed at an optimistic cost of £5 billion," to become erm, silence on the issue.

Yeah be like this bloke and vote UKIP

Cameron looking for fight to act tough on europe. No wonder the other countries dont understand the uk.

Everything the EU does has been agreed by UK. Its like Chelsea saying they dont like the premier league rules, when they discussed and agreed with everything
