When I was in my teens I used to do a bit of caddying at my local golf course.
I would frequently see Al Phillips (aka the Aldgate Tiger). He was getting on in years and just a little guy but I was always extremely polite.  |

I used to go in a snooker club in Tottenham quite regularly, run by a big but out of shape Trini guy who had been a specialist in some crazy version of karate, not the Shotokan stuff that most people do.
Anyway, this chap was unfailingly polite, well-mannered and easy going and I had started to think that the tales told about him were slightly exaggerated, to say the least. One night a bunch of geezers came in the club, clearly intent on causing trouble, and again the Trini did his usual schtick, greeting their obvious menace with his quiet and dignified affability, even maintaining his calm when they started to take the piss out of him. So he asks them to leave, and one of them gets up, and tries to give him a two-handed push on the chest, and the Trini steps aside, and basically disables the guy with a kick to the side of the head. The other four rush him, and he takes them all down in a whirl of flying kicks and punches. Someone opened the door, and he just threw their broken bodies out on to the street one by one. Never seen anything like it in my life, he must have been 20 stone and he moved like Darcy Bussell. |

Next village to where I live.There's a young lad in the pub & he has a speech problem(stutter)& this clever **** who thought he was a hard man started taking the piss out of the lad.This other bloke came over & told the clever **** to leave the kid alone.So the clever **** left the lad alone for about 5mins but then he started again.So the other bloke came over & told him once again to leave him alone.Once again after a few mins the clever **** started again so this time the other bloke came over but he didn't say anything.He just gave him one & being an ex boker it was a right clout.Down goes the clever **** but when he got up he turned to the ex boxer & said that he'd only hit him because he'd had a few drinks & couldn't defend himself.The ex boxer said,well I'll be up here 12o'clock tomorrow (Sunday dinnertime) when we are both sober & we'll sort it out.Come Sunday dinnertime the ex boxer is sat on the seat outside the pub but surprise,surprise the clever **** never turned up.In fact I don't think he's ever been in that pub since & that's about 10yr ago.

A boxer with a pony tail, i have heard it all now. To be fair the guy was less "well into his seventies" and more "a sprightly forty seven year old who used to box for the navy".
