I have watched, and listened - to numerous performances by this band, and I have to say, I have never heard any other band in history with such fantastic vocalists. Luke Kelly, Ronnie Drew, and Jim McCann, each easily good enough to sing from the front, and now 2 dead and one I believe with throat cancer of all things. Kelly wa, quite simply, one of the greatest 'folk' singers ever, yet when you listen to McCann singing carrickfergus , theres no ne could sing it better.
The only true incarnation of the Dubliners was the group consisting of Luke Kelly, Ronnie Drew. Barney McKenna, Ciaran Bourke and John Sheahan. I saw them lots of times in the late sixties and early seventies.

Kelly even messes it up, repeating the second verse, hence the shrug (and chuckle) at 1:18. Still brilliant!
