forgot how good these were !

was out in the sticks (south coast)at the weekend and gathered a lot (a carrier bag full ) of chestnuts that had fallen from some trees ,used to buy these as a nipper in the 60s the bloke used to cook them in a coal  brazier type contraption ,you only got a pratfull for a shilling if memory serves and at least 2 of them had a fecking maggot in  ,just roasted about 30 of them in the oven and they were feckin delicious ,bit of a pain shelling em but cant complain especially as they are free ! highly recommended !
