Got his autograph at Colne in the 50's when he was Pro for Bacup.
I remember him scoring thirty odd in 2 overs and thinking that's Colne done then.
The next over he was caught in the slips by Derek Varley; a world class catch that became the stuff of legend.
I also got Sir Frank Worrall's autograph there and saw Clyde Walcott when he was pro for Burnley.
They were the Three W's ;when they were on song they could kill a test in a few hours because they scored so many runs at an astonishing rate.

Interesting Tambers, they were a great trio. I saw Sir Frank clean bowled first ball at Headingley  by Freddie. 1963 I think.

I've only ever asked the question re first ball dismissal, working out the 4th ball is rather more difficult.

I asked that in a quiz a few months back, iirc, only 5 got it right out of 12 players.

According to my calculations, number 10 remains at the crease.

Over no.1 - bat 1 is out, bat 3 comes in and faces 2 balls

Over no.2 - bat 2 is out, bat 4 comes in and faces 2 balls

Over no.3 - bat 3 is out, number 5 comes in and is also out, bat 6 comes in but face no balls

Over no.4 - bat 4 is out, bat 7 comes in and also goes out, bat 8 comes in but faces no balls

Over no.5 - bat 6 is out, bat 9 comes in and faces 2 balls 

Over no.6 - bat 8 is out, bat 10 comes in and face 2 balls

Over no.7 - bat 9 goes out, bat 11 comes in and also goes out

Leaving bat 10 at the crease having faced only 2 balls

Yes about 5-12 seems about right for the correct answer taxi, I've asked it many times in the last 20 years or so when the conversation turns to cricket. The other one I just made up. I will check your answer which is very well predented. I got dizzy when the 2nd man was out.
