1) Leon. Saw it tonight. Really enjoyed it. Surprised it didn't get at least one Oscar nomination. Great acting from both leads.
2) Schindler's list. I've read more books on world war 2 in recent years than I've had hot meals but shockingly had never seen this film. Not a lot to be said on a masterpiece that is as good as anything ever made.
3) Usual suspects. Sadly I knew the ending but loved it. Spacey plays a blinder.

Leon, superb film, the girl/man relationship works superbly.
Schindlers is one of my favourite films, probably as i think the main 2 actors can act all too well. not read any war books tbh. More into crime/sci fi. Like spacey, but not seen this won. |

Schindler`s Ark the book on which the film is based is a very good read and the cd of the film`s soundtrack by John Williams is magnificent.

I watched The High and the Mighty from 1954 last week. It was billed as the original disaster movie and starred John Wayne amongst others. It was pretty tame, but I found it interesting as a social reflection of life in 1954. More than half of the seats on the passenger plane were empty and only one female stewardess, which I'm assuming partly reflected air travel in 1954.

Casablanca is ace. I've just gone through a few of the old classics, Wuthering Heights was ok (with good performances), Brief Encounter was rubbish (it hasn't dated well) and Gone With the Wind was excellent

For anyone who has not seen Oneupmanship starring Terry Thomas please sort this out now,I chuckled all the way thru,just a shame they dont make films like that now.
