Saw him a few times in the late 60s. Very, very funny guy.

British wrestling legend Ricki Starr passed away on September 20th, following a short illness, Starr had been living in London and was 83. Starr made his debut in the US in 1952, rising to television fame in the 50’s before moving to the United Kingdom. Ricki shot to fame portraying a ballet dancer, prancing around the ring in a time was homophobia was high in the sixities. His antics got the entire nation talking.

WWE posted the following on Starr:

“WWE is saddened to learn of the passing of Ricki Starr, 83, a talented grappler most famous for his balletic moves in the ring and his nearly unbeaten streak in British wrestling promotions during the 1960s and 1970s. Our deepest condolences go out to Starr’s family, friends and fans.”

Les Kellett was a very tough guy. Not big by any means but hard as nails, but funny with it. Born less than a mile from me.

Yes, I remember all these guys but couldn't remember who used to pretend to be deaf and couldn't hear the bell when it suited him.

Saw them several times. They were a straight fighting pair. Nothing fancy, but very effective.

Never heard of him. Some good articles online. He wrestled Les Kellett 13 times between 1964-67 and beat him 13 times...says at the end of one article...have you ever wondered where Beatles drummer Richard Starkey got his name?
