I know the big chunky fellas with proper lenses are probably better than a slimline one, but for ease of portability I'm probably after one of those.
Have an old Nikon Coolpix one from 9 years ago but that is only 5MP and they all seem to be around 15MP now. What is the best equivalent of this that I will find now for around £100?
one i found on hotdeals which gets good reviews and reduced quite a bit in argos.says reduced from 199 to 89.http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/2448141.htm?cmpid=COJUN&catalogId=10001&cjsurferid=177402504084319236&_%24ja=tsid%3A11674%7C
I bought a COOLPIX L820 about 6 months ago - for about £100 - there was some sort of £20 voucher to bring the price further down from £120. Can't recall the exact specs. and I don't have the user manual to hand.
It has 30X optical zoom which is handy at the races. It also takes quite hi-res video. Cameras are astonishing now. Digi photos so much better than the old film where you had to really know what you're doing.

That looks great - good reviews and good price, but it is pretty big and heavy. Am choosing to sacrifice quality for convenience to have something that will go in a pocket and not be too heavy.

Not a fan of Sony for tvs or laptops but this camera seemed to get decent reviews and had decent spec for the price.

Looks just like the Canon Ixus and that's only £70 at Arg0s - not sure if the Canon Ixus has a video function, though.
How come all these cameras are tumbling in price? Is it due to lack of sales because of decent phones / cameras, or is the next super-duper generation of cameras due?
Fujifilm bridge cameras are now only £90, reduced from £200.
