can he be  so sure bearing in mind current EU migration rules plus who knows how

There will certainly be Ebola patients from Africa who come to us in the hopes of receiving treatment. And they might even infect a few people here who may then die. But an outbreak in Europe or North America would quickly be brought under control. I am more worried about the many people from India who work in trade or industry in west Africa. It would only take one of them to become infected, travel to India to visit relatives during the virus's incubation period, and then, once he becomes sick, go to a public hospital there. Doctors and nurses in India, too, often don't wear protective gloves. They would immediately become infected and spread the virus.

Well we will soon see how well the medical services in Spain cope with their problem.
Although we have good isolation facilities they would soon be overwhelmed if there were a significant number of infected people.
Soon everyone with a sniffle or touch of flu will be panicking and rushing to the doctors thinking they have Ebola.

Can Ebola be spread through touching money? can it be spread through touching other objects?

Already seen that people are not touching other people in Africa, what if they leave body fluids on something then someone else touches that object?
Report seaview October 8, 2014 10:04 AM BST
Yes.

Avoid being in close contact with others, especially in confined spaces.
Report Schalke 04 October 8, 2014 10:11 AM BST
There must be hundreds of ways of catching it without actually touching another person ...

How do you know a restaurant has cleaned glasses, cuttlery properly. How do you know that someone with Ebola is not a raving loony and is trying to pass it on to as many people as possible ...

i think we are all screwed

ago. It was about a deadly virus, luckily it gradually  mutated and became
harmless and the world was saved. That might be the best hope for EBOLA ,they
are currently trying anti bodies from EBOLA survivors as a treatment.

Africa is probably the worst place for this to spread. Most people don't have a fixed address ... you think you may have Ebola? Yes I do, ok, where can we get in touch with you to give you a cure? Em, I live at one of the mud houses 45 miles from here ... "oh dear"

The curious thing about ebola and aids is it reputedly comes from bush tucker,
Now if thats the case how come aids and ebola are spread by bodily fluid transmission.

We need to be wary that nobody decides to use this virus against us. One infected person could contaminate an awful lot of victims if doing so deliberately. Not as spectacular as a car-bomb...but far more effective! And expensive and it causes panic! Sad

What baffles me most is that governments have known for months of the Ebola outbreak and how it has spread to a wider area of West Africa. Why were flights from that area not more strictly controlled? A British man in Macedonia has just died from it. I suppose with transit in other countries it is almost impossible to enforce, but I still think western governments have been way too relaxed thinking that no cases would reach their shores.
