Report Velasquez October 7, 2014 11:35 AM BST
"Gadzooks" was an archaic disguised cuss word..."God's hooks" - i.e. the nails used to crucify Christ. Joost sayin', like...Plain

A phrase from the 70s that no-one uses any more...was incredibly hip Excited in the 70s -- "infra-dig".

Hello, please, thank you, and goodbye.

You do in Stoke, Mememe.

It might be a dump - but politeness is still found in abundance in Stoke.
Report Crisp77 October 7, 2014 2:51 PM BST
Hello Tommy.

Thank you for defending Stoke.

Good bye.

Same where I am, it can take half an hour to negotiate the platitudes if two of you go for an oyster pad at the same time.

Tommy & Crisp
I went to Stoke once - got stuck on the link road on (A500 I think). Anyway couldn't get the last mile because of polite drivers saying after you and thank you as they stopped to let each other go first.
Prefer Birmingham ... shoot first, then give way.
Potteries is for pottering, Black country is for ... err.

With that story you make Stoke sound a lot more interesting than it actually is.
