Cooking home-made dauphinoise potatoes as we speak. Have a nice bit of sirloin (will cook medium-rare) to go with it whilst I watch the racing.

Can't wait Love

Elderberries and bits of windfall apple from the garden heated up in a tin of Ambrosia custard (49p from Poundstretcher). Powdered cinnamon and ginger sprinkled in to make the house smell of Christmas rather than the usual dog, mould and misery.

a good tip if you're eating at home; conjure up the feel good factor of eating out by leaving a few quid on your dinner table when you finish your meal, and then suck a mint on your way to bed.

If I had a few quid to place on the dining room table, I would not be spending the afternoon on Betfair eating scavenged fruit and Poundstretcher custard.

A jacket potato.  A knob of butter and a sprinkle of salt.  Cost about 20p.

About 1.00 pm

Bloody starving now, though.

Just grilling some old tortilla wraps with paprika, lots of salt & pepper.

Will eat with a tub of hummus whilst watching the racing. Bliss Love

Mrs TR cooked a roast chicken last night, so I'm making chicken fried rice later on. Leftovers day!

Grilled McLelland cheddar cheese on toast, with sliced grilled cherry tomatoes with side salad, for me. And a beer.

Bachelor's Super Noodles in Sweet 'n' Sour Sauce (BBE Oct, 2014) heated up with a tin of Lidl tuna and chopped up turnip leaves from the garden.

A top-class feast for under a quid.
