When I was about 15/16, before I could properly bet myself, I dreamt that I was looking at the Horse Racing results page on Teletext. When I woke up in the morning, I only remembered the name of one horse. The horse was Tiger 'Something', can't quite remember now. To my surprise, it was engaged to be running later that day. The odds of it winning were 100/1 so I thought it's got no chance and didn't have a penny on it. Needless to say it went in.

I'm 24 now and not dreamt of anything like it since. Is there a Scientific explanation to this or a guardian angel/other power watching over me?

A mate who's a Charlton supporter phoned me and told me he'd dreamt that Charlton were going to beat West Ham 4-2 that night. He was off to the match himself. I went to the bookies where the odds on the score was 50-1, so needless to say I had a bet. Went to the pub that evening and showed the landlord my betting slip. He was in and out of the back room checking on teletext, this was circa 2002. He came out and told me with 2 or 3 minutes to go that I'd been close as it was 3-2 Charlton. Then in the closing minute Charlton scored. Happy days! Happy

A scientific solution to this could be the Many-Worlds theory of quantum mechanics. At every moment, every possible 'next moment' happens, but we only ever experience one moment, one version of events. If you are thinking of getting a cup of tea and you decide to get a cup of tea, the universe splits into one where you get the cup of tea and another where you don't. At the moment where you could dream about a horse or something else, you dreamed about a horse. But you also didn't dream of a horse - that split off into a world of it's own. And in this world, where you dreamed of the horse, the horse won, but the universe split again when that horse ran and in other branches of the universe it lost. Somewhere there's another 24 year old you, in another world, another universe, that remembers dreaming about a horse that didn't win.
