Seeing her at the Tory party conference reminded me of a few photos from her younger days. Very nice indeedy.

As the daughter of Sir Reginald Adrian Berkeley Sheffield, 8th baronet, descendant of Charles II and owner of a 300-acre estate, we expected cutglass vowels and a finishing school drawl.

But, instead, the words came tumbling out in Estuary English. She uttered 12 'you knows', four 'sort ofs' and six 'reallys' - four of them in a single sentence. How on earth, I wondered, does a baronet's daughter end up talking like the Clinique girl in the Bluewater shopping centre?
