I remember my first modem which was 9Kb/s around 1995, the 14K model was £50 more expensive. Remember that was the maximum speed of the modem and not the actual speed.

That's close to what Twizzle is getting Laugh

There's a different between kbps and KBps

When I rent web servers they can be 1 Gigabit/sec, both directions... which is 120MB/sec or 1000000 kilobits/sec.

Yes Ron. totally true.

I have a well optimised 152mb virgin connection. My internet is like a dream. Netflix comes through like watching Sky HD. HD movies download in around 8 minutes. An itunes song takes maximum 10 seconds.

Costs though. Over £30pm for the broadband.

CMAT. the 6718 is a download speed of 6.7 Mbps, and the 378 is an upload speed of 378Kpbs.

Your upload speed is well off there.

Is this because I live in the middle of nowhere or is my PC at fault?

Well your download speed normally relates to upload speed, so it doesn't seem right to me. Not sure exactly what could cause the disparity though.

Mines is about the same as that. The only time it's noticeably not big enough is when there's 3 people trying to stream movies, or a rare large download of something.

Good latency is more important IMO.

UK internet and phone is pretty cheap compared to Canada.
