Daley Thompson is on the Colin Murray Show on TalkSport every Thursday (I think) from 10am-1pm.

He's always a great contributor on there and he's doing a 'Top Ten' of British Sportsmen/women at the moment, going in reverse order, and dedicating a 10 minute or so slot on each.

This comes after his recent 'Top Ten Sportsmen Of All Time' - which was in the same fashion.

The number one was Muhammad Ali.

He's a NI radio presenter on TalkSport.

Used to be on Ch4 and Ch5 a lot on sports programmes - where I always thought him abysmal.

I've grown to love his radio shows on TalkSport in the last few months though - much to my surprise.

He really is an excellent radio presenter.

I think Murray is brilliant on TalkSport, Howdi.

I didn't like him much on Radio 5 when I heard him on there - along with his tv gigs - but I reckon his TalkSport show each day from 10am is the best daytime radio listening there is all day.

I don't find him to be a giggler - well certainly not in the same class of 'Beavis and Butt-head' who I now call Hawksby and Jacobs.

My God, they really are painful.

No worries, Howdi.

We can't all like and dislike the same people - as it should be.

There wouldn't be much room in the world for 'all sorts' if we did.

what exactly has happened to peter shilton and nigel mansell? never hear a peep from the both of them.....Surprised. by the way totally agree with colin murray comments. top class presenter who has a nice way of talking to listeners when they call in. I think its called "the common touch"..

Yep, absoluteky, Conductor.
Murray's radio show is just like a bunch of blokes discussing sport in a pub - and when listeners call in they are treated in just the same fashion.

It's all very relaxed and not 'forced' as almost all other radio shows are.

Murray goes with the flow - as it should go/he should do - and doesn't keep to time limits and stuff, like others think is the only way to present.

By the way; I've heard Shilton a few times on both Radio5 and TalkSport in the last few months talking about the England team (and goalies, in particular).
Whether he gets paid or not for his comments, I have no idea.

I saw Mansell on The Cycle Show on ITV4 last year, as he's into bike racing and has set up - or is setting up - a cycling team (I think).

tommy toes. thank god the two of them are still with us, I suppose the point I am making is for two world class performers of their sport it would be nice to hear their thoughts every now and then. I repect top class sportspeoples opinions unlike some of the dross we listen to from the same old suspects. also the one downside to the colin murray programme is the female who does the news on the hour and half hour. her name is robyn schernhoffer(I think) but her voice just really annoys me and sounds a real smug c**. she also has a very annoying habit of saying "thank you very much indeed colin" when murray says her name. she just seems too nice imo and seems to milk her minute of fame a tad too much for my liking.. good luck o you anyway tommy..Wink

And good luck to you too, Conductor!

I must admit, I've never taken any notice of Robyn Schernhoffer - nor the way she thanks Murray after he pronounces her name correctly.

Still, that doesn't seem a bad thing!
