To achieve this, each sets out to buy votes by simply bribing the electorate with their own money.

Labour, however, have recently taken this a stage further. From once being the party of the aspiring working class they are now the friend of the hapless parasite.

Indeed, the doors were recently flung open because it was deemed that such arrivals were more likely to vote Labour. 

The game is all about getting in power and staying in power and to hell with the consequences of their actions.

The difference is obvious: Labour MPs went to minor public schools; Conservatives went to major public schools.

After that, it is the same path to power: Oxbridge (especially PPE); a few years as a SpAd (special adviser) then parachuted into a safe seat.

The days of the shop steward becoming a Labour MP, or the rural solicitor a Conservative one are largely behind us.
