We strive to grow and maintain plants but how do you explain this?

Every year I have seven hanging baskets, two at the front, one at the side, and four at the rear.

Three years ago I had the most spectacular bloom of white flowers at the front where the tiled step meets the wall.

There is only a hairline crack so the question is posed..."How does a seed from a basket go to ground here?

Beneath the minute crack is the cement on which the tiles were laid.

There must be sod all water and no soil, yet the thing was lusher than any plants in the baskets.

For three years this plant has come back, whereas the baskets are finished, and thrown out every year.

This year it was back again but I scraped off the initial growth weeks ago.

At the weekend  it was back with just one flower, but today there are two. I had some brilliant photos of it but lost them on a phone upgrade.

I will take some more when it seems to be optimised this year.
