There are  some sports you can now do from the comfort of your shed.
Cycling ... bike or exercise thingy and big screen with road showing ... and not beyond the wit of man to set up hills etc, like on a treadmill
Running - as above
Motor racing - motor bike and lawnmowers - I mean formula 1 - as above
I think the list is almost endless.

All you need is a shed.

Complete waste of the license fee. Must cost a fortune to do an outside broadcast like this. I like Cycling and watched a lot of the Tour De France. They showed the Road Race in the Commonwealth games last week and it was the most boring race ever. The commentators did not provide any insight whatsoever. It's on Eurosport and anyone with an interest will probably watch it on there apart from when the adverts are on!

Funny thing is, they will spend 4 hours promoting Sky!

Thanks Barry.  Add rowing to my list, although you'd need a shed with a bath.

London needs the exposure and money spent on worthless vanity projects to keep the bubble going Wink

Sorry Barry, misread your post, I thought is said boat race (not road race)

Weightlifting can be done in the shed too. Start of with tins of paint, progressing to bags of compost through to bags of cement.

Like it Barry, like the way you're thinking.  No need for big screen.
Can be done in B&Q

Sit back, chill out and enjoy.

it's just like taking a drive on down a country lane
on a sunday afternoon only to get stuck behind a group of idiots
out for a bike ride.

Cyclists keep winning Sports Personality of the Year (Hoy, Cavendish, Wiggins). The BBC thinks this proves cycling is very popular (and not merely that the cycling lobby is good at organising its supporters to vote).

Cycling is very popular though it will go to a gymnast in 2014 Ramruma.
