the nhs are full of sh1te. spent a week using olive oil on it, done nowt except make it worse.
yesterday i got some otex, which the nhs website says has no benefit whatsoever over olive oil, and already im starting to feel a bit of benefit. ears still bunged up but i can hear it breaking the wax down. bubbling, crackling and the odd whoosh of louder sounds. only a matter of time before this stuff gets it sorted i reckon.
i should have known, cos i know an old bloke who always uses olive oil for earwax and he can never hear a bloody word im saying!

I find olive oil works great; it must be warm though, otherwise I find it doesn't do anything.
...obviously don't heat it up in a pan; just put the bottle of olive oil in a bowl of hot water for 5 mins |

well it didnt work for me. just clogs it up more. i think it probably only works if you dont have much in there in the first place, mine are massively clogged up right down to the ear drum. softening it up doesnt really help, i need something to break it down and the olive oil wasnt doing that.

olive oil is just as good as otex, it will loosen the wax but then you need to go to the surgery and get the nurse to blast it out with her warm water gun thingy

I agree with bob, olive oil isn't much good. Otex does the job much better.
If you can get away with using olive oil then good for you, but real men need something a little stronger. |

My surgery are not keen to blast my ears on a regular basis as apparently it's not good for your ears so they prescribed a product called Otomize which I apply myself. I used to produce enough wax to set up a candle factory but Otomize keeps the wax at bay and I haven't had my ears blasted for about three years now. Well worth considering if you have a regular build-up problem.

If it is really stubborn Bob you could always try a six inch screw-nail.
Gently insert it into the ear and turn by hand. The thread should capture all the wax. Who knows you could kill two birds with the one stone here, ie clean ears and the business idea you have been looking for. |

If you want a new way try, sonic waves
Apparently takes 10 minutes and at a cost of £80 Only at major cetres The downside is if you got tinninus it may make that seem worse e.g you got a clean pair of pipes  |
