Fate really was on the poor things side! I work nights, basically I've f****d up with oversleeping on Friday, so as occasionally happens I can't sleep for toffee Friday night. So I decide to take the dog for a walk at 345am.
I walked past a construction site and heard a ruffle, then saw movement from one of those mesh type barriers. I could see some sort of animal trapped. I climbed over after tying my dog up, and this poor cat was hanging half way down a ditch with the mesh wrapped around its neck. It was so tight I couldn't even get my finger between its neck and the mesh, I couldn't even get a key between to try and snap it. After picking him up he just lay there gasping as I tried for roughly 5 mins to free him, eventually I managed to release his collar which allowed enough room to pull the mesh away from his neck a centimetre or so, even then I had to BITE the mesh which finally released him, felt great to help the poor thing.
He's a lucky boy, he'd have been brown bread if I stayed in bed!

i have managed to kill 3 cats this year, in my car. lucky all had collars so dropped them at the door step and left the owner to find it that way. didnt have the heart to tell them.
not a massive fan of them tbh , but not nice to happen, one even wedged under my wheel arch |

I left a pile of netting in a corner of my garden. I'd used it to cover up some stuff to keep the birds off.
I found it all torn and tangled up one day. Then it dawned on me that a cat had probably got caught in it. I bet it had some fun getting free. |
