Michael Adebowale, who was given a 45-year prison sentence for the murder of soldier Lee Rigby, has been given permission to appeal against his sentence.
Adebowlae, 22, was convicted of killing Fusilier Rigby in Woolwich, south-east London on 22 May last year.
He was convicted alongside fellow Islamic extremist Michael Adebolajo.
A full appeal hearing in front of three judges will take place at a later date, a spokesman for the judiciary said.

That he did it in the name of a god that he now knows never existed, or a prophet who if still alive would be getting a call from the Yewtree police? |

Appealing the sentence, not the conviction. The appeal panel will have the option to increase as well as decrease the period of incarceration.

@Ramruma I'm not sure Lee Rigby's family would agree with you.
When someone commits as heinous a crime as this they should lose all but the basic rights to a bed, food, water, toilet facilities and regular exercise. |

 very good BBIt was a brutal cold blooded murder, the sentence needs to be in line with others of this type I would think about 30 years, he serves just over 20, and is deported People are judging him on his religion, but it is not an offence being a Muslim even an extreme one |

I have great sympathy for Lee Rigby r.i.p. and his family
but this is not the only murder that occurs in our society, is it? |

Ebulgery he's not going to get his sentence reduced to 35 years from a life sentence which is mandatory for murder. It will be the minimum term that will be considered.

People are judging him on the brutality of this crime and nothing else. |

Lee Rigsby was stabbed to death they then followed with rather grotesque beheading I still hold to my opinion other can disagree....in fact they do don't they |

If ever there was a reason to bring back the death penalty, I sincerely believe that this case is definately one of them.
