Einstein won the prize, but not for that(I think).

Correct Degs

No wonder they where confusedLaugh

The Nobel Prize in Physics 1921 was awarded to Albert Einstein "for his services to Theoretical Physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photoelectric effect".

I'm just suggesting that the question setter is maybe no more informed than those answering

The question was along the lines of '1921 Nobel prize winning scientist, famous for his Theory of Relativity.' If the question confused them, it's because they're easily confused.

Either way Isaac Newton was definitely not winning owt in the 1920s.

Your average sportsman is basically academically uneducated although a lot of cricketers and rugby players would have been to university or at least got a few A levels. An episode of 15-1 using only Premiership footballers would make for entertaining viewing I would say.

I've never watched the programme, but played the relevent part on iPlayer. Mikael is correct and the OP didn't quote the question correctly, so I apologise to the question setter.

genuine question though ..... when the answer was revealed, they said the score was 34/100. Does that mean 66/100 people got it wrong or didn't know ?

As I say, I've never watched the programme and don't know how it works.

In mitigation, Calzaghe has spent his life being punched in the head.

Barring his subtraction skills, Taylor is abnormally thick.
Report Crisp77 July 14, 2014 12:33 PM BST
I think they would rather spend their time practising the skills that made them their millions rather than worrying about what some old fella got up to.

Yes Degs, only 34 of 100 could answer the question correctly. Sad

That programme with Davina what you call her, where the money drops down a hole if you are wrong. Two thickos on it the other night, I think they were gay chaps. Question was:

Which of the following words can only be found in the name of just one country in the world:

KOREA

ZEALAND

GUINEA

The 2 dunderheids didn`t have a scooby doo. Korea it must be Korea they exclaimed. Definitely not Zealand and they split the lot on the other 2. How can people be so stupid?

North Korea and South Korea LaughLaugh

Papua New Guinea, Equitorial Guinea, Guinea and at least another one LaughLaugh

New Zealand only country with the word Zealand in title.
Report Sica Dan July 15, 2014 1:22 AM BST
Part of Denmark is called Zealand so maybe they were confused
but then again Korea north and south are regularly in the news.
Report themightymac July 15, 2014 1:42 AM BST
No mate, they were just thick. They didn`t even understand the question. Hence their eagerness for Korea.

I knew, like yourself, that Denmark has a region named Zealand.

Caught an old 15-1 on Challenge a few weeks back. Question was 'which mythical creature is associated with Wales?' I seem to remember the bloke who answered looked a bit like Kevin Ashman, but his answer of 'mermaid' leads me to think it wasn't actually him.

On the simplest level of all, an old favourite of mine was on Family Fortunes. 'Name a yellow fruit' - buzz: 'orange!'

This was facking hilarious LaughLaughLaugh

About 30 years ago, Dave Lee Travis did a quiz show on the radio, and had a pretty large audience.

Essex bird on the line was asked ‘Name a black politician.’

After a few seconds thought she said ’Winston Churchill.’

The studio erupted into raucous laughter, as did all the staff where I was at work.

After DLT calmed down (he was in hysterics) he asked her how she got that answer.

She said ’I live near Woodford. I drive past his statue every day, and it’s black.’

Churchill was MP for Woodford, here is a photo of his statue. Laugh

Answer - Henry the 7th.

So there you have it, Henry the 7th’s father was Henry the 8th. Laugh

Watch right to the end to see what other contestants scored.

Btw, on the Ali questions, Tunney Hunsaker wasn't a patrolman, he was the Chief Of Police, but Lammy still got the point for it.

His total score should have been 12.

Saw a Derren Brown show on telly a little while ago. The opening bit required a member of the studio audience to name a country which Brown then proceeded to amazingly reveal he had written down through some complicated manoeuvre.

The member of the audience's response to the initial question was "Africa"!
Brown, and in fairness I noted a slight rolling of his eyes at this point, went on with the trick and revealed a piece of paper with "Africa" written on it.

Obviously the studio audience member wasn't a plant or they would have actually given the name of a country!
