Marks and Spencer - where are they going wrong?

Basically the quality of there clothing which previously was very good has declined to the level of the primarks etc,
The prices have remained at the higher level.
The present buyers would appear to be hopeless.
Just how bad the quality is is shown in the new staff uniforms recently introduced, which within a couple of washes is fading wearing.
If you  cant get the staff reasonable quality uniforms what chance have the public.

THEVE FOLLOWED THE REST OF THE HIGH STREET STORES BUYING CHEAPER INFERIOR GOODS FROM ABROAD AT CHEAP PRICES AND MAKING BIGGER PROFITS ON THOSE CHEAP INPORTS.THEY USED TO OFFER SOMETHING SPECIAL.NOW THERE JUST THE SAME AS THE REST  OF THE COMPETITION. THEY HAD A NICHE IN THE MARKET NOW THEIR JUST THE SAME AS THE REST .COMPETING IN AN INFERIOR PRODUCT MARKET

Food's still excellent. Much better places for gear.

Yes, food sales are up. Clothing sales are declining faster than my Betfair balance

All the pensioners are dressing in Jacamo and G*Star nowadays, trying to pull Indian chicks half their age, isn't that right, no-one in particular.

If Marks have started selling gear, they have probably ostracised their middle class customer base.

Food is great the clothes are terrible. Plus all their staff have matured into old miserable cows.

Corralling their 'older' customers towards the self service check outs . Not a good partnership, causing fear and congestion .
